As I write this, funnily enough my first thoughts aren’t on the resort I am currently in, or how work will be… but, why am I not out partying hard? Have I really got that much older than all those seasons ago (what, is this now my 6th season or something stupid?!). But who really does care about that kind of crap anyway, because I have many interesting things to tell all about saas fee “the chocolate box alpine village”. Not so many stories to tell so far, just the basics (I’m sure they’ll come soon enough!)
On arriving in Saas, I remember the view’s from the windy, mountain roads asking myself… ‘but why am I really doing this AGAIN’… and then I realised, its something different, and im with the girls! So anyway, we pulled into resort (which is traffic free!).. where we were greeted by the MOST INCREDIBLE AUTOMOBILE THING IVE PROBABLY EVERY SEEN… also known as ‘a tuc tuc’.

Pretty much an ‘electric milk float style taxi’. Fantastic they really are! the luggage went on this.. and very excited we were! Headed to the accommodation, and en route I still kept thinking ‘what will we be doing in our days?’ ‘why didn’t I choose a beach’ and ‘will I get fit? Or just fat again?’. But no time to question myself.. we were soon at our accommodation. Apparently the best staff accom for esprit. To be fair, cannot fault it (maybe apart from the green grass coloured carpet in our room.. but we can deal with that!). steph, and myself, we share a room, with an extra bed (which to clarify we changed into the ‘day bed’ for chilling and watching dvds) and to even add to the exicetement we have a ‘stationary corner’ with a little desk and chair, where I can ‘write love letters to matt’. This desk also contains, vodka, food, and masking tape!! Its all going on at the minute, we live by this stationary table, we really do! All in all there is 9 of us in the accom, 2 to a room, and a massive living room and kitchen area.. so no escale rules go here WE CAN ALL DRINK TOGEVVA!! 3 bathrooms too, great times for me and sarah stevens!!
The resort in general, is actually very beautiful how I would probably describe it, well looked after.. (its got to be considering they have the ‘shush police’ – patrolling the area to make sure people don’t talk above normal level… unlucky for Belfo then! – and the fact you cannot hang washing on a Sunday, or drive a car in resort, and also use the washing machines from 10am – 6pm and 10pm to 6am.. mental swiss people, oh yes!). Its crazy to be able to look up, still see some snow on the mountains, up in the glacier, and then look back down to see the grass so green and just… well, different is all I can say. Its still confusing me, with the lack of snow, from what we’re so used to in the Alps! Change is never a bad thing I suppose…. I’ll get back to you on that!
We didn’t manage to arrive till afternoon on Tuesday so by this time, everyone was SHATTERED, and considering… I didn’t even sleep the full coach journey, I was awake till Dover, when does this normally happen?! However the coach from Geneva to Saas was epic to, 11 of us (yeah this is pretty much the team, besides managers and head chef!) on a 5star bus, hello spread out! Enough jibber jabber. Had some introducing and what not, eating and getting familiar with our surroundings. Think we finally rocked back home about 8ish, where we unpacked (the making of the stationary corner and everything else exciting!) and settled in, followed by hitting the sack pretty early.. where guaranteed I slept like a babyyyyyyyyyyy! (and matt… there was no dribbling! Surprising huh?!)
On Wednesday we set up nursery and snow club, which were also pretty good rooms. Oh my, everything in this blog is all very ‘wow’, ‘fantastic’, ‘awesome’ and ‘epic’. Good times then I guess. I’ve also noticed how more ‘sophisticated’ (for myself anyway) that i’m writing, maybe its not the best idea to constantly write about the amount of times I have meetings with the floor, or the battle with food! I’m doing good so far I reckon with this?! But the bad times/fun times/odd times will sooon find themselves slipping into here back to the real stuff, just a pretty standard day in a typical Esprit seasonnaire set up, cleaning. Cleaning. And more cleaning! EPIC! Not much music, we lacked it today, but playing the word game was fun and we managed to stay clear of the usual. Food. Belfo. Fat. Ginger. Belfo. Fat. Ginger!!
Once we had finished work, and walked back.. it came into conversation that “ooh maybe I fancy a run tonight, its cooler enough”. And this happened, myself, steph, belfo, chris and beth raring to go, sarah a little not so eager but none the less up for it. We managed to persuade rhona and jo to come aswell, and after 5 minutes, rhona, jo and chris had jetted off elsewhere. Who knew the altitude really affected your exercise and breathing?! Belfo loves to claim that she ‘won the race back’.. when it wasn’t even a run in the first place! All good fun!! We pretty much crashed straight after this, bed was much needed again!!
Thursday was another standard day of cleaning and what not.. but alas, we did get to experience mountain biking… (I would like to state this is the moment that you would have LOVED to have been a fly in the air to see me!). Bear in mind, I haven’t rode a bike in maybe something stupid like however many years, it was tricky.. but nonetheless I did get there alongside some slight moaning, heavy breathing and lots of telling myself ‘do not bail. Do not bail fatty’… I did it!! We went up some crazy track, stopping at a lovely park for a quick play, before heading back down. I reckon this was just as tough, only because I was paranoid I’d topple over (yes I still remember the head first front brake incident!).
Decided to see the wonderful Saas Fee at night, and had some beverageeenies! Headed out to popcorn, where we all managed to dance like complete and utter morons again! It was so great to not have to wear heels and side step to the beat… obviously the running man and the chicken came out to show everyone up! Shakira also made an appearance. But I will say, I didn’t do anything beyond silly that is on a normal evening for.. vodka could possibly be on the verge of us being friends?!
And now we’re currently at Friday evening, (this blog is a biggy isn’t it!... bored?!) Standard day AGAIN. Everyone who’s done a season, knows the drill. Until lunchtime, when we got the chance to do the adventure land zip wire course before finishing up on the longest zip wire in Europe over a gorge! Fantastic. Really was! Except after much faffing about the worry of my ass hanging over the harnesss or if I wouldn’t safely clip myself to the right things, we all did brilliant.. much good encouragement from all the lovely ladies to and some giggles alongside some shouts of ‘mum.dad. I love youuuuu’ when doing the tarzan wire! Extremely glad I did that, and will most likely do it again even though I was a little scared, not for the height factor, just because we were strapping ourselves into the clips so it was in our hands! Now im just bumming around… and cannot wait for bed (as always!) Guests are arriving tomorrow, so all hands on deck! Let’s see how this goes….!
So far, I cant actually explain how I feel. Obviously from 8 weeks of bumming around (don’t forget those 6days of work… I personally like to count them!!), I thought id be raring to go to work, but this is proving more difficult. Early mornings? I mean I know what they are, but I forgot we actually HAVE to get up for them! I cannot fault the resort, or accommodation, or the work load (so far! Except once again, we’re the unlucky childcare team who will be working loads because there is more children booked than expected! Hello afd’s!) But I still always keep that one question at the back of my mind… ‘when will the day come that I think, seriously its time to get a job?’. So far (I’m not saying never) I’m thinking uk bound after Tignes! Maybe its time, I spent more quality time with the family and friends (not everyday… goodness theyd kill me! But its nice to pop in every so often rather than, ‘hey im home’ and ‘right im off again next week!’). Will just have to wait and see.
So for now, I’m going to stop my complete utter nonsense that ive probably managed to write about for the last half hour or so, and let you get back to your lives which are so much more organised/cleaner/real/better paid/ or whatever else, than mine!. HELLO I AM A SEASONNAIRE VETERAN. I SERVED WITH ESPRIT.
A few photo's... a couple of us on a tour of the village... the first morning of work.. belfo loooking sexy as ever in her uniform. and then one from our only night out ha...

I’d like to do the gay things and say that I miss the family, as always, especially after the wonderful wedding weekend that we had… I’d still do it all again, and I still miss you all, even after the crazy drunk states you’ve all been in recently!
Loveage as always to the friends, who, I know I’ve not seen much since I’ve been back… yes I really am to lazy to get out of bed, or yes you guys do have a job, which I just cant understand this whole 9-5 mon-fri malarkey in the uk!
And a biggg special kiss for mr oscar owl, who I do especially miss (man im turning into a wet blanket again!), and was very sad to see still standing at fleet as we drove off on the coach (and then saw on the motorway by our side.. mama mcfred you crazy thing!). wish you were here mr LC! But to be fair, its nice to have a break from the toasties.. apart from today! Shh, don’t tell anyone.. your’s are better
That’s all from over the water and up the mountains! I hope your still awake!
