Firstly a picture of the whole team.. taken on tuesday at Hohsi Land :)

Today is transfer day, it’s a Saturday.. which is a little unusual still as I keep thinking its a Sunday, slowly getting used to it now! Today, I also nearly could have been called an arsonist.. and steph. Not actually on purporse. Myself and steph were cleaning the wellness centre, and we threw the dirty towels on the floor, unbeknown to us next to a floor light… eeek! I had noticed some steam but because I was looking in the reflection of a door, so thought nothing of us. After another 5 minutes, we smelt burning…! Thank the lord, after another 5 minutes of panic, we spotted the towel. Leaning against the light.. burning the towel! Ha. If we had been like 5 more minutes late, probably would have been some flames! And that was the most productive part of my day!
Most of this week, its been raining. Got caught up in a couple of the storms to with the thunder, and even one night, we sacked off our shoes, and ran through the streets. It was epic! Also nearly died of frost bite yesterday morning. We were meant to be off to see the Marmots, in the morning, but the bubble car was closed, so we changed the plans and went to the ice cave. A really not great idea, considering that I had my stupidly short hotpants on, and only a waterprrof coat on that covered my shorts.. I should have worn a sign saying “yes I am wearing shorts.. you just cant see them!” even a hot chocolate didn’t warm me up, or the shower (wait there wasn’t much hot water either on that note.. so im currently still shivering after a day and a half!).
On Tuesday it was a very busy day off… alarms were set for 9.20am (yes on a day off to!) and off we went. First trauma being that my sunglasses broke, both lenses came out. Bloody primarni hey! But anyway, we all met at the bridge as some people wanted snacks… I am included in this and then we set off down the mountain. It was actually awesome, im not gonna lie. I felt as fit as a fiddle. And I loved the fact I was wearing stephs bag, felt like a true hiker! Pah.
We got to saas grund, where we met the manager (check this. All paid for as a ‘team bonding’ and we headed up the bubble cars, to hohsi land, where we take the children, but today was about us. And we paddled in the lake, got pretty close to the bulls, and just chilled out. At 1pm we went to collect our monster scooters. They were EPIC! And helmets ready, we set off down the mountain. It was so amazing, the tyres were HUGE and the brakes pretty sharp. Our posture wasn’t to great, maybe down to the fact we were all a little scared of toppling head over heels. The chefs had all whizzed off down, making it a race, while myself, steph, rhona and belfo went at a nice speed.. still fast enough, but stopping to get some photo snaps (these including ones of us riding down with our asses hanging out!).
It was such an amazing experience, on the dirt track being a little bit crazy, and the fact we all fet like fat cow’s as the bingo wings, the butts, and the thighs were all shaking like nothing. Im surprised the bingo wings didn’t knock myself out! Haha. We got to the bottom, where we learned that Belfo had actually fallen off her scooter, right infront of everyone else! Gutted.

Deciding that getting the bus, was a better option, we all piled onto the sweat fest bus to head back to Saas Fee, where we then went and changed, and didn’t realise we were playing football.. funniest thing EVER! All of us on the astro turf, females all shoeless due to changing into flip flops.. probably not appropriate! Honestly never laughed so much at football, we all tried. And failed! But still fun. Except think it was a bad choice, as we had the volleyball court booked for 5pm, and we were all absolutely nakered after football! None the less, we perked up ready to play. All good fun to, even after the first 5 minutes of losing the ball in the river, but managing to recollect it again! Headed back to the hotel for tea, and then slowly dragged ourselves home.. and we were all in bed by 8.30pm! definetly hardcore seasonnaires today hey! Ha.
Today I am sitting here, as ive had another day off, me and sarah decided to do a full day and get an extra off. Woke up about 5.30 after sleeping forever! (I did watch finding nemo.. and still managed to cry??!!) me and Rhona, opted to go for a walk up the mountain.. a nice little stroll. Came back and ate mouldy cheese (yeah id left it in the fridge for 2 weeks.. I wondered how it had managed to last so long.. until I saw the out of date sign! Oops!). We’ve all just watched some films today, a bit of a boring one. But a must. And its also cloudy so who cares!
Me and steph worked out, that were actually a third of the way through.. that sounds weird, because we’ve only been here 3 weeks, but its such a shorted season. 6 more weeks on Friday and then ill be coming back home! Do I have a tan? Well yes because I have nice white bits, in rude places! And ive also now earnt myself a burnt scalp… a little painful, but manageable. I think it calls for the trucker hat to arrive! Ha!
Wednesday, I had another day off, as we swapped shifts round. This was a pretty boring day, except went on a little walk with Rhona, ate a whole bar of toblerone in 20 minutes, for breakfast, then proceeded to have pasta and pesto for lunch.. with 2 week old mouldy cheese (obviously we hadn’t realised the cheese was mouldy, till after we’d sprinkled it all over our pasta….!)
Not a lot else has happened this week, its been extremely quiet in the hotel with obviously the 3 families that we have, we haven’t been out either. Me and steph watched ‘little rascals’ Monday night.. it was hilarious! “whats the number for 911?!” “ow I don’t know either” ha! Quality.
Now we’re waiting on our guests.. only 1 family has turned up, so that’s 3 more to go now.. a busy week? I think not. Lets hope for some sun this week now! And im off to see the marmots Sunday afternoon, I am beyond excited.
Think that’s all from me from over the water and up the mountain
Missing everyone lots as always, but obviously getting by, looking after myself (does toblerone for breakfast count?!). And also a big note to miss strickland.. just the fact you are AMAZING! Ha.
Lots of love. xxxxxxxx
